Plesion Ministries

Plesion is a Greek word Jesus used meaning neighbor as in the Parable of the Good Samaritan.

Plesion Ministries' mission is to share the love of Jesus with our neighbors in need.

Men's Shelter

Plesion Ministries is in the process of remodeling the Faith Mission Chapel at 723 Sherman Street into a homeless shelter for men. The ministry seeks to provide men in Clay County the opportunity to come to know Jesus, or come to know Him better and give them the tools for a productive life. Passion Ministries provides temporary housing and one-on-one mentoring. If more assistance is provided, we will help them transition to that resource needed more than what Plesion Ministries can.

Donations

We are asking for your help to see this much-needed ministry for our community come to fruition. There are different ways the community can help:

  1. Most importantly, we ask that you pray for this ministry.
  2. In addition, we will be remodeling this building by sheet rocking the walls, putting in new flooring, adding a bathroom and shower, a kitchen, heating/air, and furnishings. If you would like to donate to or have worthy items to donate for the furnishings email Bob Stratton at bob@commongroundclaycenter.org. You may also send donations to Common Ground Ministries with Plesion Ministries on the memo line to P.O. Box 487 Clay Center.

Support

The Community does an outstanding job of supporting the Women’s Shelter (New Hope Ministries) and we are confident the Men’s Shelter (Plesion Ministries) will receive the same kind of support. If you have any questions concerning Plesion Ministries you may talk to any of the team members: Maury Catlin, Richard Cott, Alan Johnson, Pastor Brad Mann, Tim Roberts, Bob Stratton, and Pastor Paul Tessaro.
